Closeup of punctation of elytra this is the most important character. Here is out of focus. Helocares prob. lividus. Ma le foto non permettono di escludere H. livornicus ed H. griseus. Ciao Giuseppe |

Osservando bene la tua seconda foto posso escludere anche H. griseus. Confermo: Helochares prob. lividus. Ciao Giuseppe |

La mia precedente indicazione era basata su caratteri non più completamente utilizzabili. Ero rimasto ai tempi della Cheecklist: Helochares griseus Fabricius, 1787 (N, S, Si) Helochares lividus (Forst, 1771) (N, S, Sa) Helochares livornicus Kuwert, 1889 (S, Si) Helochares nigritulus Kuwert, 1889 (Si) Ora ci dovrebbero essere le seguenti specie: Chasmogenus livornicus Kuwert, 1890 Helochares (Helochares) lividus (Forster, 1771) (= griseus) Helochares (Helochares) nigritulus Kuwert, 1889 Helochares (Helochares) obscurus (O. F. Muller, 1776) [ Helochares (Helochares) punctatus Sharp, 1869 ] non presente in Italia I caratteri distintivi tra H. lividus ed H. obscurus sono quelli correttamente indicati da Marek Przewoźny (Hygrotus). Confermo, comunque, Helochares prob. lividus. Ciao Giuseppe |
