Gli ultimi campionamenti tra i detriti di Palazzo Rossi, mi hanno fruttato anche un "nuovo" scydmenide.....a vista (quindi senza alcun serio confronto), mi pare piuttosto rassomigliante al genere Scydmoraphes

L'aspetto è quello di Scydmoraphes geticus, che per la mia limitata esperienza è la specie specie più diffusa e comune del genere (almeno nel Veneto/NE Italia, dove ho raccolto e esaminato materiale). Naturalmente questa è solo un'indicazione... |

dichromatic you say? I have several specimens from N. Italy identified as geticus by Castellini, mostly homogenous in colour (like the one in the photo) or with slightly darker elytra. Where are your specimens from? |

My specimens are from central Slovakia. http://coleo-net.de/coleo/texte/scydmoraphes.htm "Zweifarbig, Kopf und Halsschild heller, meist rotbraun, Flügeldecken dunkler, meist kastanienbraun gefärbt. 1,15-1,2 mm. Aedoeagus eiförmig, apikal mit zwei gegeneinander beweglichen, eine Zange bildenden Chitinarmen. Im Inneren des Präputialsackes befindet sich eine V-förmige Chitinleiste, die beiden Arme derselben sind nach vorne gerichtet, am Ende hakenförmig nach innen gekrümmt, zwischen ihnen befinden sich zwei mit Chitinzähnchen besetzte, nach vorne und außen gekrümmte, palmwedelförmige Gebilde. Parameren distal mit zwei längeren und mehreren kürzeren Börstchen [Abb.10]. Östl. Österreich, Slowakei, Ungarn, Siebenbürgen, Kroatien, Krain, Istrien, Südalpen westwärts bis Piemont. " |
