Yes, Pyrochroidae. Hemidendroides daglariensis, male.
A poorly known species, long known only on two females from Hatay (syntypes).
The male (as your specimen is) was described only recently (Young, 2009) based on a series of one male and two females from Kastamonu. The male specimen depicted by Young is exactly like this one.

Conversley, I have a small series from Hatay, including two males. Both have a large black spot among eyes.

Really wonderful !!!
I totally agree with Marco.
The distribution goes so in west, as in Esenyurt ??? Very close to Greece, so, there is a hope for us the Greeks ...
This is a new species and genus for whole Europe !!!

I quote here the article of Young (2004):

The 2009 paper is this (not available free, can send privately if needed)

Young D.K., 2009. Transfer of Pyrochroa daglariensis to Hemidendroides Ferrari (Coleoptera: Pyrochroidae: Pyrochroinae), with a dichotomous key to the four species of the genus. Zootaxa. 2263: 66–68

I quote a photo of another Turkish species of the same genus:
Hemidendroides ledereri Ferrari, 1869
I have a specimen of this species, from Afyon periphery (Central Turkey), VI/2000, in deciduous Quercus.

This photo comes from another entomologist, but does not remember by whom. Let's forgive my bad memory, the ownership of the photo is of him.

Nice :ok: I collected two of them in Isparta province, in a large hollow Platanus.

WOW!
I don't know what I can say.A species originally described from Hatay in 2004 is found in Esenyurt, Istanbul. It is common here on a Salix tree.I saw two males and a female specimen(other two specimens escaped) in two days although I wasn't looking for them.Tomorrow I will collect more specimens. Is it possible that it can be new species because either Kastamonu or Hatay is far away from Istanbul?

As you can read in the article linked by George, the species was originally described in 1896 as Dendroides cyanipennis, and just renamed in 2004 due to an homonymy.

I don't see any obvious reason supporting the idea of a diffent species based on the distribution. However, these insects are poorly known and nothing should be taken for granted.
Since it is a common species there, if you want to send me some specimens (males especially) I will be glad to compare them with those from Hatay, which can be surely taken as a proxy for the type series (= the true H. daglariensis).

Cheers, Marco

Hi all,
I've collected it up to Ovacik, Tunceli province, where it was really common on Populus.

Hi Pierpaolo, actually the specimens I have from Hatay (Dortyol) were collected by you, I suppose on traps (some lepidoptera scales on them).

I realized now that this specimen I found was living on Populus because there is a Populus near the the Salix tree.

Hi Baris,
in Tunceli it was on Populus for sure. It was very common in wine traps. But in Hatay, up to Dortyol, there was not Populus only Quercus and Fagus. In Hatay I collected it in traps as well.

Dear All,
I am preparing a short note on Hemidendroides daglarensis of which I have specimens from Amanus (= Nur Daglari), Kastamanou and Gumushane. Probably, it is well distributed in the Turkish mountain areas. If you have additional reords ....
Very interestingly, I found it in Cyprus last week: it is new for EU.
