My name is David and this the first time I post in this forum.
I apologize for writing in English but my Italian language skills are limited. However, please don’t hesitate to reply in Italian, I can understand it.
In January this year, on a trip through peninsular Thailand, I came across a beetle that I think is an Attelabidae sp. Maybe Paroplapoderus or Hoplapoderus.
I first posted in Insecte.org and there they referred me to this forum because of the specific Attelabidae expertise here.
The photo was taken in Ranong (Thailand) on 08-01-2017.
Altitude: < 100m
Size estimation: approx. 8mm (not sure)
When I look at some old threads in this forum, it seems to resemble Hoplapoderus hystrix, but maybe there are more species with these large black spikes on the elytra.
Any suggestions are welcome.
