If its not similar, it can be Acmaeoderella (s.str.) coarctata coarctata (P.H.Lucas,1846) |

Hi Eli, last segment of antenna of A. discoida seems as long as wide, in the small specimens it seems longer then wide. Is it possible. I see small differences in aedagus and paramers. But I add another pic with a small series of both, what do you think? All discoida or 2 species?

Hi, however is A.discoida very very variable in size and also coloration, think its very likely A.coarctata in darker variant... But, differencial diagnosis of habitus (pronotum) and aedagi of both collected species below binocular is most important. Small, thin male of a.discoida can look very similar.... Moreover, according to the locality, where the collection was performed, it appears that other species are excluded. Eli |

Just at a first look, in my opinion these small specimens are not Acmaeoderella discoida. Possibly coarctata. |

Such species should not be determined by the photos. As you can see below, also A.discoida is very variable in habitus.... Especially very small male specimen of A.discoida havent some visible pits of the shield, and may look like a completely different kind of ... Its hard decisions without a microscope ... But im also tend to kind A.coarctata ...

Che è successo? Ti si è rotta la reflex o che altro? Pure la nitidezza delle immagini non è quella di qualche tempo fa. O stai solo sperimentando nuovi tipi di illuminazione? |
