In February this year I've collected some Orthoperus specimen (both males and female) from a garden, under a piece of wood and moldy hay. Looking for literature and trying to ID them, I come across with a paper by Furukawa (2012) and I think my specimens belog to O. nikitskyi Bowestead, 2000.
However, this species was describes only based on a female from Russia (Mosvow) and later discovered in Japan (Shikoku). Is anyone here able to confirm my ID? Or to put me in contact with someone who study this interesting and small group of beetles?
