Erano secoli che non trovavo un grillotalpa: il primo (e unico) lo trovai almeno vent'anni fa, per giunta schiacciato in un marciapiede, presso un giardino condominiale. Questo esemplare almeno รจ vivo. E' giunto alla lampada ultravioletta con un bel tonfo sul telo (e ci credo, con quella mole...):

Ciao Roberto
In Sardegna credo sia veramente raro incontrarli, come anche determinarli visto che bisogna contare il numero di cromosomi. Stando a CKmap e Othoptera di Massa e altri, in Sardegna sono presenti :
Gryllotalpa octodecim Baccetti & Capra, 1978
Gryllotalpa sedecim Baccetti & Capra, 1978

infine rinvenuto esclusivamente nell'arcipelago della Maddalena
Gryllotalpa vigintiunum Baccetti, 1991

qui quando sono a casa in ogni notte un po di loro (Gryllotalpa sp.) arrivano :)

In Italy 3 groups of Gryllotalpa spp. exist; they are completely different from each other and distinguishable on the basis of chromosomal equipment and morphological characters such as the shape of the titillator and the wing nerves. To the 1st group only G. gryllotapa belongs, with 12 chromosomes and long wings. It is a European species, penetrating into Italy from the Alps, along the Apennines to northern Campania, without reaching islands. This species lives mainly on hills and mountains and does not give rise to races. It is a recent element in Italy, probably dating from the Quaternary. It is similar to the french G. vineae (redescribed) which is absent from Italy. The 2nd group includes numerous populations distinguishable only on the basis of the chromosomal equipment. Each can be present, either in the long-winged or short-winged form, without transitional forms. This group includes G. septemdecimchromosomica, described by Ortiz for Spain and southern France and limited to Italy, Tuscany and Umbria, a 20 chromosome from (G. viginti sp. nov.) in Ligury, a 15 chromosome from (G. quindecim ) in southern Italy and Sicily and 2 mixed species, one with 16 chromosomes (G. sedecim) and 1 with 18 chromosomes (G. octodecim ) sp. nov. in the Po river region in Sardinia and in Corsica. In all mixed populations of G. sedecim sp. nov. and G. octodecim sp. nov. hybrid specimens are found, all female, having 17 chromsomes. The complex of forms of this group, most mixed, suggests that there are different species, even if sibling. It is a very old, Tertiary, Mediterranean group. The 3rd group includes only G. cossyrensis sp. nov. of Pantelleria, probably present also in Northern Africa and Palestine. This species has certainly a southern Mediterranean affinity, and is characterized by 24 chromosomes in the female, probably 23 in the male, and by several morphological features. An identification key is provided.
