I have nothing more to add about this magnificent genus, because Maurizio added this complete paper here: viewtopic.php?f=225&t=4716&hilit=Steraspis I have just this species, as well poorly labelled Egypt, without a date. The specimen is 33mm length. Well another jewel of the Middle East.

Nel catalogo di Loebl & Smetana vengono considerate due subspecie: Steraspis squamosa kindermanni Marseul, 1865: 89 A: CY IS JO LE SI SY tamariscicola J. Thomson, 1878b: 13 Steraspis squamosa squamosa Klug, 1829: [no 10] (Buprestis) N: AE AG LB MO A: IS JO SI AFR boyeri Solier, 1833:269 luctuosa J. Thomson, 1878a: 13 Curletti invece considera valida solo la specie nominale, e tutti gli altri sinonimi o nomina nuda. |
