Hello - often I find pupae (mainly Cerambycidae, Lucanidae). When they develop at home the beetles are sometimes not able to unfold the wings. What is here the reason? Missing humidity or do the beetles need some kind of fxation as it is available in the pupal chambers? Many thanx and best regards Michael |

Gli adulti usano la superficie della cella pupale per ripiegare le ali sotto le elitre. Quando l'esemplare sfarfalla fuori dalla cella pupale spesso non ripiega le ali per questo motivo. ___________ Adults use the surface of the pupal cell to fold the wings under the elytra. When the insect molt out of the pupal cell often it can't fold the wings for this reason. |

Voleva sapere da che dipende il fatto che a volte l'adulto che sfarfalla da una pupa fuori della sua celletta non riesce a distendere le ali (intendendo le prime ali, ovvero le elitre), che restano quindi corte, curvate e spiegazzate. |
