This geometrid is from 18 August in Catalonia. Is it Hemistola chrysoprasaria?

Hi Matthew,
I do not think this is Hemistola chrysoprasaria, drawing on the wings is different, I would rather question of Bustilloxia saturata and given the place where it was discovered subspecies say iberica, Bustilloxia saturata iberica Hausmann 1995.

However, we await other opinions :)

Hi Claudio, I think you're right! I've sent the photo to Spain to try and get confirmation. ssp. iberica would, I think, be further south than my locality. Matthew

I do agree with Claudio regarding his id at specific level ;) : Bustilloxia saturata (Bang-Haas, 1906)

According to the new Leraut's guide about Geometridae of Europe, taxon iberica Hausmann, 1995 is just a "form" with no taxonomic value because some specimens from Morocco show the same distinctive characters, the postmedian line on the forewings reduced or absent (but present in this one).

I fear that your Bustilloxia is flying into leps.it... :D
