I think this is Argynnis adippe but just wanted to rule out niobe. From Brandenburg, Germany. Matthew

Hi  in my opinion the butterfly you photographed is A. niobe  in this collage I made you can see that the 5th and 6th spot of the row are parallel in A. adippe (as in your photo) but not in niobe.
