Purtroppo ci ho trovato un cartellino con "Namibia, 1999 ?". Quindi se è così è del gennaio di quell'anno; l'anno prima ero in India centro orientale ed a fine 1999 ero in Siria-Giordania. Non ricordo bene quando l'ho preparato. Si può dire che è senza dissezionarlo? Il colore è nero ma con riflessi bluastri; il clipeo è leggermente danneggiato dal lato sinistro.

Great ID Jan, many thanks!! After your post I've found in dung beetles collected in Venezuela some identic specimens labelled "Venezuela, E.do Merida, La Mucuy, 1900 m, 31-VII-2001". I can suppose I prepared all specimens at the same time with insects from Namibia (I-1999) and only this one mislabelled after falling from table during drying and much after recovered after sweep  . It is curious here https://mapress.com/zt/article/view/zoo ... .2.7/45283 a similar mislabelling case about this species (but with different epithet) also from south african specimens. I post image of others specimens: from left, male, males "minor", females. happy end of year and best in 2026!  |
