Wonderful, Plastocerus angulosus (Germar), male specimen.
Now it belongs to the Elateridae, although has loaded previously in other families.

This insect exists also in Greece (Peloponnese, Aegean Islands).
The major issue is to find again the female:
From what little I know, the female was found only 1 time, in Asia Minor, in the 19th century. Probably it is totally black, with double size and wingless, but all of them need a confirmation ...

I do not know anything about the host plant.
The specimens of the collection here, from the Peloponnese (unfortunately, all males), have been found in a variety of plants (mostly Crataegus, Pyrus, Onopordon).
The female probably lives on the ground, in holes into the soil. Something like the western-European genus Cebrio.

At last, 1 female was found, 28 years later from my first males (20/VII/2021):
same color as the males, length 14.5 mm, winged. The main difference lies in the antennas, which have much shorter protrusions in their segments.
