Hi. I think that this exemplar isn´t L.furcatus. I think -this weevil is Lixus cylindrus (cf. http://www.biol.uni.wroc.pl/cassidae/Co ... indrus.htm )

Dear friends,

I try to foto L.furcatus Olivier (left - male, right - female). I´m sorry - my foto isn´t very precious, but I haven´t macroadapter for my camera.

L.furcatus haven´t deep puncture at base of elytra , rostrum iss longer than L. cylindrus and sides of elytra are more rounded than L.cylindrus.

I have this sp. of Armenia, Turkey and Syria.

Credo, a questo punto, che si possa taxare come Lixus cylindrus (Fabricius, 1781)
Non trovo immagini del L. furcatus in rete, ma quelle mostrate da Petr mi sembrano inequivocabili.
Per altro, oltre alle due foto di riferimento di L. cylindrus già indicate dallo stesso Petr, ne trovo altre due che ci portano verso la stessa conclusione.
Comunque una conferma dall'amico Enzo non guasterebbe ;)
