....l'urlo ovviamente è quello che uscirà fuori dall'ugola dei carabari appena vedranno cosa stava divorando quest'enorme Scarites che scappato via mentre sollevavo un messo in quel della valle del belice dove ho girovagato stamattina :msic ....

da ignorante...ma stava mangiando un Carabus faminii?

Qualcuno si accorgerà mai che gli struzzi di Fantasia della Disney sono tutti maschi?

L'aspetto più deplorevole dell'essere entomologo è il cinismo che emani dalle ghiandole repugnatorie sotto le ascelle dopo una giornata di sfalci

domanda ma quanto era grande lo Scarites? sembra essere davvero HUGE!

Le misure del divoratore ce le potrebbe dare Calogero, ammesso che lo abbia preso.Comunque in collezione ne ho che si aggirano sui 32/33 mm.

l'unico che mi è capitato di vedere in vivo tempo fa era sui 26-27 e già mi sembrava grandicello

In effeti era veramente grande: dall'estremità delle elitre alle mandibole supera i 40 mm!

Non so se avete notato che il povero carabo è gia sventrato e mezzo divorato, ma sta ancora cercando di scappare. Gli Scarites sono terribili. Anni fa ne ho preso uno che era entrato fino alle elitre nell'addome di un povero Phyllognathus, che ancora arrancava sul terreno sabbioso.
