Miki, this is the ''lighting system''.I used the wire to put the lamp in vertical position, but now I think horizontal could be better.Do not pour too much water because this can increase the amount of moths trapped, and do not forget to put the trap on a higher place.

Here are also pictures with view of the place(at first sight-nothing special).And at this moment it is very dry,almost no beetles at daytime.

Georgi, if you have the possibilities, try to make a setup like this. Placing the tube horizontal will decrease the range of vizibility for insects and more insects will fall not in the bucket, but around of it. Try to dinf 4 wings of transparent plastic, the insects will hit them flying around the tube and will fall in the bucket.

Thanks for the advice, Adrian, and I guess what would be more efficient-a bigger flight-interception trap with a lamp.Maybe I'll try next year.Now in the middle of August I find less insects, but still some new and interesting for me present.Do you know these Dytiscidae?
Also there is a picture of representatives of Chrysididae coll. at the same place and time(not trapped) and Histeridae(accumulated nearby but not trapped).

Pactolinus gigas (Paykull, 1811)

This is my old home-made light trap. I built it several years ago, to put it hanging from tree branches.



I used a plastic box (white with a blue cover), 4 small tubes in aluminium, a transparent plastic sheet (recovered from the package of a shirt), a small plastic box (it contained a heart valve) with an electronic circuit recovered from a portable lamp e 4 1,5V batteries inside (batteries not in this photo).
And a neon tube (I have two for this lamp, one white, this one, and another UV - Black Light).

And this is to show the size

Dear Georgi, I think I could identify all, the second photo is less accurate for me, at least for 2 species:


Red circle: Eretes griseus - very rare and interesting species; Orange: Rhantus suturalis; Yellow: Hydaticus grammicus; Blue: Ilybius, possible fuliginosus; Purple:= Hygrotus (Coelambus) impressopunctatus (not very sure).
It is very strange for me how to be together Eretes sticticus (a species that prefer temporary pounds in sandy areas) with Ilybius fuliginosus (a mountaignous species)



Orange: Laccophilus hyalinus or L. minutus; Purple: Laccophilus variegatus; Green: Rhantus suturalis; Blue: Hygrotus (Coelambus) impressopunctatus (not very sure about the below one); ? It is possible to be Porhydrus obliquesignatus or something else I never seen.

The reddish Carabidae in the upper part of Pic 14 might be a very nice Oedesis or Eocarterus...

Many thanks to everyone! except Cosmin, because of the spam( just joking ).
I'll try to send the mites to Massimo, Histeridae to Giovanni, and will take larger pictures of the doubtful Dytiscidae and the carabid suggested by Augusto and post in section Nuove richieste di determinazione.
The place is not mountinous for sure.This is The Tracian plane and the altitude is about 150m.
Meanwhile here are some pictures of specimens from last week.Hope Adrian will tell his oppinion again.

Beautiful species of Dytiscus! Just a little narrower than Dytiscus latissimus!
