Today I'll talk about my meeting with Stenocorus (Anisorus) quercus ssp. quercus (GOEZE, 1783).

This beautiful species I have met several times in Poland - in the Strachocinski Forest, which is located within the city of Wrocław.
Beetles rather not sit on the flowers. During nice weather quickly fly around trees, especially maple (Acer spp.), ash (Fraxinus spp.), linden (Tilia spp.) and oak (Quercus spp.). They are found primarily in direct sunlight, for example on the edge of the road. Females less than males. Often together with them there is also Stenocorus (s. str.) meridinanus.

These are interesting questions, Maurizio.
In other countries, such as Georgia, I collected this species (spp. aureopubens) on flowering hawthorn (Crataegus spp.). In Poland, in Strachocinski Forest, I found a few specimens on the leaves of a blooming dogwood (Cornus spp.), but not for its flowers!

In the years 2001 - 2011 I hawe seen more than 100 exx. S. (A.) Quercus guercus in Wroclaw. For some reason, specimens from the local population does not want to visit the flowers, although they can do it!

I don't know, but I think it's possible. Different habitats or different climate could affect preferences of some species.

Individuals of the same species may behave very differently, depending on where it occur.
