Questo è il più piccolo della serie, ma forse è facilmente riconoscibile grazie a quelle strane fossette pilifere nella parte posteriore delle elitre.

Lazio, Roma, Tolfa, 3.I.2011, M. Gigli legit

p.s. è abbastanza riconoscibile, ma non per quel che pensi tu... quelle "strane fossette" sono comuni a un po' di specie :D

però si ritrovano anche nelle altre specie che un tempo erano riunite nel genere Tachys, ora suddivise in vari generi (Tachys, Paratachys, Polyderis, Porotachys, Elaphropus, Tachyura)... però le altre specie, seppure talora comuni nel loro ambiente, hanno ecologia più specializzata, in genere sono ripicoli, talora in accumuli di detrito vegetale fradicio (Porotachys bisulcatus) oppure subendogei in terreni argillosi fessurati (Polyderis algiricus)... tutte specie che potresti anche non avere mai visto, se non sei andato a cercarle apposta

in ogni caso l'algiricus si riconosce già per il colore più o meno rossiccio, non nerastro, poi per il corpo più tozzo e convesso, e soprattutto per gli occhi più piccoli e più piatti

Per ora ho trovato solo quello, ma se me ne capitano altri, nel dubbio li invio al Forum, perchè coi carabidi (eccetto i soliti Carabus, Calosoma, Campalita, Cychrus, ....) neanche ci provo a tentare una determinazione, se non si tratta di specie molto caratteristiche. Sono totalmente fuori del mio campo di indagine.
