Giusto per far ridere un po' Piero... Dendarus foraminosus?

Se non ci hai preso in pieno ci sei molto vicino: sicuramente è uno dei taxa del gruppo di D. foraminosus .
Più tardi cerco di approfondire.

Si tratta di Dendarus politus Reitter, 1904.
È un endemita cretese molto diffuso sul massiccio del Monte Ida (Psiloritis). Si distingue dagli altri taxa del gruppo di Dendarus foraminosus per i tegumenti dorsali molto lucidi e per i punti delle strie elitrali particolarmente diradati.

Although veeery fresh member to the forum (less than 24 hrs ), I would like to add a small note in the subject, as I study these beetles for quite a few years (+ co-author of the "species status" of this taxon)..
(with this opportunity, I also express my deepest appreciation for this forum, which I follow as guest, for the last 2-3 years).

Indeed, there is a cline of intermediate forms of D. politus (at 2.400 m on Psiloritis & Lasithi mts.) towards D. foraminosus at the lowlands of central Crete. The female specimen by G. Ruzzante, belongs rather to an intermediate form (as also the altitude of Anogia indicates). To make myself clear, I'm uploading two photos of the extremities (morphological) of both taxa, the first one being a more clear form of D. politus (from the mountain peaks of Lasithi mts), the other one D. foraminosus from low elevations of Asterousia mts, central-south Crete.
It is very obvious that the first is very shiny, with minimal primary elytral punctures, while D. foraminosus are quite "mat" with huge primary elytral punctures.
